I've seen this video by Celente and others with his future predictions.

The writing is on the wall for those whose eyes are open.

5251 views ... Someone had to come in and argue something that had nothing to do with the point of this video.

The BDI is about how much is being shipped and for what price. What this means when the chart falls off is the global markets are in the dump and are flatlineing

OK George, we'll leave it at that.
I don't have the inclination to argue with you.
George Comment by George on March 25, 2009 at 11:07am
You are wrong, BDI measure the level of freight to carry row material and freight level is determinet mainly by balance between supply and demand. From BDI alone you can not say anything about demand. BDI is many times driven by sentiment about the future and shipowners are not very optimistic about future with another 50% of actual dry cargo ships ordered at shipyards around the world in the last 3/4 years.

Please explain what catastrophic theories you are alluding to.

What 'demand' are you referring to, because the BDI does in fact measure the demand to move raw materials and precursors to production.
George Comment by George on March 25, 2009 at 9:21am
It does not measure the demand, it measure the balance between demand and supply which is represented by freight. Demand can remain for some time fixed and BDI may still fall or increase significantly due to increase or decrease of supply. Despite BDI is 10 times lower than last year Chinese imports of iron ore have increased compared with same period last year.... I just wanted to say that from BDI alone you can develop such catastrophic theories I have seen on this page.
